Job Description

The design and development of electrospun biomaterials and coatings on a project basis, contributing to multiple client and in-house projects. The role involves the practical application of research and engineering to develop novel process solutions. The desired candidate will have strong technical skills to work on complex projects with a wide range of medical applications. Strong collaboration, communication and creativity are essential, as well as the ability to adapt to new challenges and work well in teams.

The Electrospinning Company will provide training in electrospinning and device design, as well as working to medical device quality standards. As we grow in our operations, so will you, and opportunities to develop beyond this role will be available.

Main responsibilities
• Hands-on research and engineering to develop novel technical solutions
• Delivering technical tasks on schedule and to a high standard
• Prepare, design, and execute experiments
• Assist with process development from pilot scale through to commercialisation in partnership with the R&D and manufacturing teams
• Analyse data and share research findings and opportunities through reports and presentations
• Liaise with approved or potential suppliers and clients on projects
• Operating specialist electrospinning equipment, high tech metrology and engineering equipment
• Maintain excellent lab record and assist with documentation under ISO:13485
• Working to and maintaining Quality Standards
• Troubleshoot lab and equipment issues
• Effectively communicate issues and risks to appropriate team members as soon as they arise
